Mantis Being
“Mantis beings,” also called Mantids, Mantis entities, or Insectoids, are beings described in modern UFO/contact, alien-abduction, visionary, psychedelic, and spiritual-experiencer accounts. They are usually portrayed as tall humanoid figures with features resembling a praying mantis large eyes, elongated heads/necks, slender bodies, and long limbs. Reports of this particular type became prominent in UFO/abduction literature beginning around the 1980s.

What role are they said to have?
It is important to separate what experiencers and spiritual traditions claim from what has been scientifically established. There is currently no verified scientific evidence establishing that Mantis beings exist as extraterrestrial or interdimensional entities.
Within encounter literature, however, several recurring themes appear:
Supervisors or overseers: Some abduction narratives portray Mantis beings as higher-ranking figures who observe or direct other entities, particularly beings described as Greys.
UFO researcher David Jacobs reported this pattern from interviews and hypnosis sessions with people claiming abduction experiences.

Telepathic communicators: Experiencers frequently describe communication as occurring mentally rather than through spoken language.

Observers: They are sometimes described as standing apart and observing procedures rather than performing them directly. Jacobs specifically reported this supervisory/observational motif.
Project Avalon
Genetic or hybridization work: Some UFO-abduction literature connects insectoid entities with alleged human–alien reproductive or genetic programs. This is an interpretation of experiencer testimony, not a scientifically demonstrated program.

Healers or consciousness teachers: In contemporary spiritual/experiencer communities, Mantis beings are sometimes interpreted much more positively as healers, teachers, consciousness guides, or beings capable of energetic work. These are spiritual interpretations rather than scientifically verified characteristics.
One particularly interesting feature is that accounts aren't uniform. Some people describe them as compassionate and extraordinarily intelligent; others experience them as frightening or emotionally neutral. That makes statements such as “Mantis beings are benevolent master healers” or “Mantis beings control the Greys” beliefs within particular experiencer traditions not facts we can presently verify.
Even David Jacobs, whose work is frequently cited for the idea of insectoid beings supervising Greys, acknowledges a major limitation: much of his evidence came from memories retrieved through hypnosis, which he himself describes as a very weak form of evidence and says readers should approach skeptically.

If you'd like, I can also explain Mantis beings in spiritual/Starseed teachings including their claimed connection to Antares, the Greys, genetic engineering, healing, and human consciousness.
